The Rock Riders were formed in Calgary in 2005 by three brothers from Hr. Breton, Newfoundland. Their neice Alana was a big reason the club was formed. Alana had Cystic Fibrosis and was fighting it all her life, the three brothers decided to form the club and raise awareness and do some charity fundraising with the aim focused on Cystic Fibrosis. Since 2006 the club has grown its membership and its goal to help fight Cystic Fibrosis. Unfortunately we lost Alana in 2006. We have also lost some members over the past years. These members are an important part of the Rock Riders and will never be forgotten (see below).
The Rock Riders are made up of an elected group of officers determined by our membership at our AGM. Our officers include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Sgt. At Arms, Road Captain and Recruitment. Additional members are elected or appointed to a board to assist the officers in the day to day operations of the club.
The Rock Riders are mainly consisted of people from Newfoundland, however, we do accept membership's from people outside Newfoundland. All we expect is that you follow the rules and bylaws set by The Rock Riders and promote the province of Newfoundland in a positive manner.
The Rock Riders are not a MC or 1% club but we do respect the rights of others we ride with and meet along the way. We are a non-territorial club and the city/province on our crest only indicates location of the chapter. We support everyones Right to Ride. We don't care what you ride just as long as you ride.
